Description
Salary: $150,000 - $350,000*
Status: Full Time
The Glaucoma Division within the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute is seeking an MD, MD/PhD, or other combined degree candidate who has previously completed a glaucoma fellowship. This position may fill clinical needs at any one of the Wilmer Practice Network locations in the Baltimore metro region or the National Capital Region.
Candidates should be active glaucoma surgeons, and ideally should have familiarity with both traditional (trabeculectomy, tube shunt), as well as minimally-invasive glaucoma surgical techniques. Candidates should have an interest in teaching medical students, residents and fellows through interactive teaching sessions, in-person clinical teaching, and surgically. Individuals with an interest in innovative teaching methods are welcomed.
Practice opportunities (both clinical and surgical) are available at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, Wilmer Eye Clinics in Baltimore's Northern, Western and Southern suburbs, as well as Wilmer Eye Clinics in the national capital region (i.e. Bethesda, MD). Choice of practice sites will be done in collaboration with candidates given the best available practice opportunities and the candidate's preferred area to live.
Our current glaucoma faculty meet, and typically exceed, national academic medicine salary medians as part of a compensation system with outstanding benefits and an incentive plan. Faculty rank and support will be commensurate with applicants' experience and accomplishments.
