About the Position
Eye Physicians of Austin is seeking a full-time optometrist to join our physician-owned, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in central Austin. This role is ideal for an optometrist who enjoys medical eye care, values collaboration with ophthalmologists, and is interested in helping grow and shape a long-standing, respected practice.
Working closely with our ophthalmologists, the optometrist will provide comprehensive eye care with an emphasis on medical optometry, diagnostic evaluation, and surgical identification and referral. This position offers the opportunity to build a robust patient panel within an established referral base and supportive clinical environment.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive eye examinations and ongoing eye health management
- Diagnosis and management of routine and medical ocular conditions within Texas scope of practice
- Identification of patients who may benefit from surgical or subspecialty ophthalmic care, with internal referral to ophthalmologists
- Participation in collaborative care models focused on patient access, quality outcomes, and continuity of care
- Spectacle and contact lens prescribing, with support from an on-site optical department

We are a comprehensive anterior segment practice offering cataract, cornea, LASIK, and glaucoma care, as well as dry eye treatment, general eye diagnostics, contact lenses, and eyewear.
Our modern 10,000-square-foot clinic is fully equipped with advanced technology, including: - Cloud-based Nextech EHR - Lenstar biometry - Heidelberg OCT - Zeiss Clarus fundus photography - Zeiss Humphrey visual field testing - YAG and SLT lasers
We also have a revenue-generating optical department with certified optician and contact lens support staff. Our experienced team places a strong emphasis on training, collaboration, and maintaining high staff morale.

Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD)
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Texas
- Interest or experience in medical optometry within an ophthalmology practice preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and patient-focused approach
