- Comprehensive Ophthalmologist in Western North Carolina Mountains

Mountain Eye Associates is a physician owned and operated independent practice seeking a surgical ophthalmologist due to succession planning and a continually growing patient base. A new or experienced surgeon will have an incredible opportunity to build a successful practice with an experienced and skilled support staff, in a private practice setting with a clearly defined partnership track.
Mountain Eye Associates has 3 office locations less than 20 miles apart, including optical and a licensed Optician in each location. We currently serve our patient base with 5 providers including 2 surgical Ophthalmologists, 1 medical Ophthalmologist, 1 Optometrist, and 1 PA. MEA offers a collegial, family friendly environment with a focus on ethical patient care.
Career Opportunity
- Excellent volume: A new physician will start with an excellent volume of 30-50 patients per day and 10-16+ surgical cases per week depending on experience, ability, and desired schedule. Our practice utilizes outpatient surgery centers and hospital settings to provide our patients outstanding surgical care while giving surgeons flexibility in planning each case.
- Career potential: A partnership track offering practice equity, real estate opportunities, and productivity based profit sharing is clearly defined with a flexible timeline.
- Advanced technology: Our practice offers patients new technologies such as Light Adjustable Lens, as well as in house YAG, SLT, and office procedure room for oculoplastics. An in-house LASIK procedure room is available for surgeons interested in perusing refractive surgery.
- Flexible schedule options: A successful candidate may choose to work a 4.5 to 5 day work week. No weekend office hours.

- Experienced staff: Skilled technicians, scribes, and administrative staff with years of logistical experience support physicians in patient care. Each physician has both an assigned scribe and work-up technician support team.
- Technology: Our staff utilizes Modernizing Medicine, and an iPad is provided for physician use. Lenstar, OCT, Pentacam, Visual Field, Autorefractor, YAG/SLT, Argon, and Light Delivery Device are all available.
- Diverse surgical options and support: Access to local surgery centers as well as local hospitals offers diverse options to provide surgical care.

- English Fluency (Spanish fluency is welcomed)
- Comprehensive Ophthalmologist - OculoPlastics / Glaucoma specialty interest and surgical ability is a plus
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with completion of an ophthalmology residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Fluency in English
- Excellent surgical and leadership skills with a commitment to patient care
