Salary Range: Assistant Professor: $230,000- $262,621, Associate Professor: $240,124- $270,629, Professor- $253,052- $281,592
The University of Chicago’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science seeks full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will provide patient care in the area of neuro-ophthalmology. Candidates with an interest in practicing comprehensive ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, alongside a neuro-ophthalmology component of their practice, will also be considered. This will include office visits at the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine in Hyde Park, and/or other locations. Other duties will include teaching and supervising ophthalmology residents and medical students, as well as scholarly activity. We also welcome applicants with additional subspecialty training. Academic rank and compensation depend upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible. Appointees will contribute to the management of neurophthalmology patients, medical education, scholarship, and join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners at UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates and off-site locations. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) have completed an ophthalmology residency or its equivalent.
